a bright side... the silver lining... true or false? ^_^

Life is designed to be hard. Problem after problem. Ache after ache. As long as you are alive, expect sadness, disappointment, loss, failure and fear. Never-ending. Piling into heaps.
But as you go along the journey of life, you will realize that in between all the pain is happiness, success, contentment, laughter and experience. It might be hard to read between the lines but that is exactly the secret to living a good life: Thinking positively.
Life is hard, yes. But never so that one cannot find a reason to smile. Family, friends, the simple things in life matter.
If you have a broken family, focus on your studies or career, it's sure to blossom. If your love department gets screwed up, think of the family that awaits you home for dinner, and the friends who's willing to meet you at the mall. If you fail in school, there's still next year. Besides, God probably meant for you to fail because you're destined to be a rock star =))
Point is that the bright side? that silver lining? It exists. It's true. Open your eyes.
As they say, if one can't be truly happy... At least don't be downright sad.
Life is hard... But life is good. Someday, soon I hope, you'll realize that.
... Yours truly just did ^_^
Shout outs to my first heartbreak =P

the jungle called college =)

Many say that high school is the highlight of one's education. After that, is the ever frightening stage: college.

At first glance, college means goodbye to high school. It means goodbye to teachers, hello professors. It is goodbye to periodical exams and hello to midterms. Bye to the buds you've grown to love... The set of students you ate lunch with and spent every spare moment for the past four years, or maybe even more... and hello to... well, I don't really know if there can be a replacement for the barkada you've form ed in high school.

Back to the topic.
If you take a closer and more practical look, college means that you are closer to your goal. That final diploma is only four more years away.

Often, a high school graduate fears the next four years. They, we, are back to being the babies. Freshmen once again.
Hey? Can you blame them? College is like a brand new world. High school is totally different from college. Universities are so big that you wonder if you ever find yourself there.

On the bright side however, college is an opportunity to start over. The brands that were tattooed on you during the last few years can be erased. You start from scratch.
The best part? You're not alone. All your other classmates are starting from scratch as well. Fair competition.

You have the opportunity to start fresh.
If in high school, you were the campus crush, or the honorable student, or the student body president, or the all around kid next door, the change may be regrettable.
But for the loners, those who were always beneath somebody, or under someone's shadow, this is like a dream come true.

So for those who will be entering the jungle called college in the next school year, seize this opportunity.

But, of course, stay true to yourself... and don't rush off to every student organization. Consider which is helpful, and which things you are good at.

Bashful? That is so last season. You aren't one of Snow White's seven dwarfs you know ! =)

Good luck high school graduates of school year '07-'08 ^_^
Heck. Best luck.

FIXING A BROKEN HEART

A broken heart is the hardest thing to fix. No medicine, or ritual, or herbal whatever can totally cure it. It is something that science cannot answer to. It doesn't even leave a pattern, meaning past experiences or advice from other people are sometimes useless.

People react to heartbreaks differently as well. Some cry 'til they dehydrate themselves. Some opt to be numb. Some smile through the day and yet crawl back to their holes during the night. Some become bitter and resent the one who hurt them, the one who stole their loved one away, or even themselves, thinking that they weren't good enough.

It's definitely the worst kind of ache that humans experience. Its like going out of the dentist clinic, still under anesthesia. Then after some time, the sedative wears out, and you feel the pain... And all you could do is sleep it through... And not think of waking up.
